'The Changing Profile of Health Services in Manchester'
Manchester Race & Health Forum & Manchester BME Network are hosting a FREE joint event on Tuesday 17 March. It will take place between 12:30pm and 3:30pm with lunch included and will be held at the Phil Martin Centre, 137-139 Princess Road, Manchester, M14 4RE. See the attached flyer (attachment 1) for more details.
The event will be of interest to anyone interested in finding out more about the changes taking place within Health Services in Manchester and also interested in finding out about the work of Manchester BME Network & Manchester Race & Health Forum. The key speaker is John Harrop, Director of Manchester Community Health at NHS Manchester.

Domestic Violence and Mental Health: Experiences of South Asian Women in Manchester Research Launch
Banqueting Suite Town Hall, Monday 30 March 10:00 am -2: 30 pm Saheli Asian Women’s Project in conjunction with UCLAN (University of Central Lancashire)have undertaken research into experiences of South Asian Women when accessing mental health services. The research was funded by NIMHE Mental Health Programme NHS (National Institute for Mental Health in England). As a consequence of the research findings and recommendations, Saheli are seeking to engage more fully with mental health services across the city to develop reasonable and effective working partnerships and to develop joint working initiatives which will by design bring lasting and positive changes to the lives of these women and their children. The research findings will be of particular interest to: women’s service providers, practitioners in health and social care, women’s aid, academics, researchers, policy makers and campaigners, social housing professionals and voluntary sector agencies.
Lunch will be served with a variety of hot and cold food catering for a broad range in tastes and cultures. See the attached flyer (attachment 2) for details. Please complete and return the booking form no later than Friday 20 March.
