Manchester Race and Health Forum/BME Network Open meeting

The key speaker for this event will be John Harrop – Director of Community Services, NHS Manchester, who will be speaking on Transforming Community Services. This is an opportunity for the BME voluntary sector to find out what current changes are taking place locally, to put forward any relevant questions and to influence further service developments in Manchester.
Everyone in the voluntary/sector is welcome to attend this meeting but we do need to know numbers for catering purposes, so if you are planning to come along please let Angela at MRHF know by email or telephone.

Self Help Services (part of the Big Life group)
Job Title: Administrator
Salary: £15,825 per annum (NJC Scale 3)
Location: Zion Community Centre, Hulme
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term for 1 year (1 April 2009 – 31 March 2010)
Self Help Services is a user led mental health charity that has developed considerable expertise in the field of primary care mental health. The charity currently delivers a range of services for people experiencing common mental health problems. These include computerised cognitive behavioural therapy (cCBT), self help support groups, complementary therapy services, and brief 1:1 low intensity psychological interventions.
The post holder will provide administrative support to Self Help Services’ staff and volunteer team, including overseeing the management of enquiries, assisting with monitoring information and updating the Self Help Services’ website. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for improving the lives of those people who are affected by mental health problems alongside excellent organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
