Sexual Health Services:

African AIDS Helpline
The AAH provides free and confidential advice and information on sexual health and HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and support services for Africans living in England. Staffed by African advisors, the Service is provided in English, French, Portuguese, Shona, Swahili and Luganda.

Arise HIV Support Service
Arise HIV Support Project provides advice, information and support to individuals and families from Black and Minority Ethnic communities living with or affected by HIV and AIDS in Manchester.

Leeds Skyline Service
The Leeds Skyline Service provides advice, information and support for all people, families and carers living with or affected by HIV and AIDS in Leeds.

National African HIV Prevention Programme (NAHIP)
NAHIP is a Department of Health funded programme of national HIV prevention activities for Africans living in England. BHA is one of the Partners implementing NAHIP activities in Manchester and Leeds.

HIV Prevention Service
Black Health Agency is undertaking collaborative work with Black & Minority Ethnic (BME) community groups in Manchester to raise awareness of HIV, promote HIV testing; and improve access to sexual health and HIV services for Black & Minority Ethnic communities in Manchester.



Healthy Communities

Manchester Drugs and Race Unit
MDRU exists to address inequalities in service provision and policy for drug users and their families from BME communities.

Reaching Out
Reaching Out provides drugs and alcohol related education, training and support to Black and minority ethnic (BME) communities living in the city of Manchester.

Routes Project
Routes Project supports families with children aged 0-19 newly arrived in the UK and living in Manchester

Sahara Project
Sahara Project offers support to refugees and asylum seekers in North Manchester with mental health issues, signposting users to appropriate services

Jeena Health Project
The project works with South Asian women in Salford and Trafford around sexual health and wellbeing

Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Outreach Project
The Black Health Agency are working with the NHS Sickle cell and Thalassaemia screening programme in Manchester to raise awareness of Thalassaemia and sickle cell disease and of screening offered by the NHS.



Involving and Engaging Communities:

Manchester, Lancashire, Warrington and Wigan Local Involvement Networks
LINks give everyone in their local community – individuals, voluntary sector and community groups – the chance to say what they think about local health and social care services and share their experiences. The Networks are able to take up issues with health services, local authorities and regulatory bodies – and feed-back to everyone who has raised issues about the action taken to deal with their concerns

Manchester Race and Health Forum
MRHF aims to address health inequalities in service provision and policy in Manchester, through the mechanism of forums whose membership is representative of the diverse communities in the city
