The AMHI was developed in 2003 to give a voice to African men living in the north west of England around health needs and to devise strategies and resources to raise awareness and promote healthy living options. Organised and managed by African men working for Black Health Agency the AMHI has been involved in establishing focus groups as well as delivering outreach work to target African communities in the North West.
The group offers:
Opportunities for African men to meet and talk about health issues at health days seminars and workshops
Information to improve health and quality of life
Advice and support to African men experiencing stress, ill health and life changes
