Board Background document

All Charities need a Board of Trustees. The purpose of the Board is to determine, with the other board members, the strategic direction for Black Health Agency and to ensure proper performance of the agency's duties We intend that Black Health Agency's Board should reflect the diversity of  the communities that we work with, and also bring a wide range of expertise and skills to assist our overall performance and  the planning and delivery of our longer term goals.  

Board members usually bring with them expertise in a certain area, ie, Organisational Development, Human Resources, Finance,  legal knowledge , etc, . We also strive to ensure that the Board membership is representative of both Men and Women, Young and Older People and other key interest groups. 

 As well as the Non-Executive members, several  of Black Health Agency's senior managers sit on the Board. These are currently Priscilla Nkwenti, Chief Executive and Qurab Ahmed, Finance Strategy Manager. If you would like more information about joining the board, please contact the Chief Executive, Priscilla Nkwenti in the first instance for an initial chat.  An application form will then be sent out, along with information about BHA.  Once completed application form received, they will be either invited for a quick chat with Priscilla and Tony or to meet all the board members at the next meeting.
