Bowel Cancer screening campaign
The NHS is running a new campaign 'Taking Care of number 1? Check your number 2s!’ Anyone aged 60-69 who is registered with a GP will automatically receive a screening kit in the post every two years to use in the privacy of his or her own home. Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK and around 80% of cases occur in people aged 60 and over. 90% of cancers can be successfully treated if caught early so it's important not to be embarrassed about using the kit. For more information please call the freephone helpline on 0800 707 6060 or visit http://www.cancerscreening.nhs.uk/bowel or speak to your GP.
